KINDLE FREEBIE

My first novel, Amethyst, finally became a FREE Kindle Book!
This YA Paranormal romance/ urban fantasy has been free at Barnes & Noble, Smashwords.com, iBooks, Kobo, and Diesel since October but was just made available for free at Amazon. It is the first book in the Guardian series.

The power of FREE at Amazon is truly amazing! In less than two weeks there have been 5401 downloads!! Now, if everyone I know, would tell everyone they know to download Amethyst, the possibilities are staggering....If you don't have a kindle, the book can still be downloaded for free onto a nook, Kobo, iPad, or eReader of some type.

A few tips that help an author's book be downloaded more times at Amazon:

1.  Leave a review and rating.

2. "Like" it on Amazon.

3. There are also "Tag Words" which can be found when you scroll down the product page on Amazon. If you take 10 seconds and place a checkmark in the tag boxes - it increases the books popularity by having it appear in other places on Amazon. For example, it will say Check the boxes next to the tags you consider relevant. So for Amethyst, you could check next to paranormal romance, fantasy, etc. etc. You can check 15 tags.

My second novel in the Guardian series, Linked, is available for $2.99. What has also been exciting is watching how many downloads this novel has had since Amethyst went free at Amazon.  Can you guess? Well.... the current winning number is one hundred and sixteen.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has downloaded my books. Please keep passing the word around...Facebook and Twitter are great places to suggest Amethyst and Linked to your friends and family.  I will keep  you updated on downloads, because that has been soooo much fun to watch.

Just so you know, I am currently working on book three in the series. Target date of sometime in 2013 for the release!
Happy, Happy New Year! May 2013 bring you much joy and happiness!
sincerely,
Heather Bowhay

  1. I just had to let you know that I LOVE your books. I ended up only getting 3 1/2 hours of sleep because I couldn't stop reading Amethyst. So of course I had to download Linked right away. About 1/3 of the way through and am at that "I want to read it fast to find out what happens but don't want it to end" stage already. Characters are amazing and I love both Ash and Jason. Cannot wait until book 3 comes out!

    1. Dear Joyce,
Thank you so much for the positive feedback! Totally made my day. I have been working on book three in between teaching, being a mom, wife, gourmet cook, chauffeur, and house cleaner extraordinaire! :) still shooting for August; I know exactly where it is going but it is bugging mr that I cannot decide on the title....
p.s. Love the picture of you and your daughter!

  2. I stumbled upon amethyst when I got my kindle for Christmas. Being born in February and the title was my birthstone I thought I would give it a try. I started reading it and couldn't put it down. I loved it, so much so that I immediately started looking for the second book. That one took even less time to read, it encompassed my evenings. Every night after studying, I knew I had this other world to fall asleep with. I'm so excited, and eagerly anticipating the third book. Thank you for awakening me to fictional reading. I usually only read books about gardening, fitness, physical therapy, and self help type books. I find myself now looking for other books outside my comfort zone. Thank you very much!

    1. Hi Erica! Thanks for sharing your great story! I'm glad you branched out into a new genre and found that you really enjoyed Amethyst! I remember being addicted to the classics and anything 18th century, and then I read Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth Series, and I've been in fantasy land ever since.

There are tons of amazing paranormal/fantasy books to be read. Since you have a Kindle, you might want to check out my Listmania list on Amazon that has 40 free Kindle books. There are indie authors and established authors, and often their books are only free for a day or two, so the list is ever changing. Happy Reading! :)

    4. Just one question, do Ash and Madison have a relationship in book 3. If so that should be interesting to read.

    5. Are you asking for "spoiler" information? :) I don't even tell my daughter what's gonna happen next...you'll have to wait and see! Happy reading until then! :)

  5. I loved amethyst and linked was even more amazing
And compelling and absolutely beautifully written. I can only hope book 3 is even half as good as linked was. Like I said linked was action packed, intriguing and full of love (<3 lol) and I have high hopes for the next book and even if its horrible (which I SERIOUSLY DOUBT) I would love it if only because I could see what happened with Alex and Jason and the guardians and everything. Keep up the good work I'm counting the days till summer and it comes out :)

  6. I FELL IN LOVE WITH AMETHYST RIGHT AWAY. I WAS SO INTRIGUED WITH THE DETAILS YOU PUT OUT. YOU MADE ME FORGET I WAS READING A FANTASY BOOK AND EVERYTHING JUST CAME TO LIFE IN MY HEAD. THE REALITY OF EVERYDAY LIVES OF YOUNG TEENAGERS, MAKING THE TRANSITION INTO THIER ADULT LIVES MIXED IN WITH HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE SUPERNATURAL SEAMED SO REAL. YOU PUT IT TOGETHER SO BEAUTIFULLY. KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK.

BY THE TIME I GOT TO LINKED I FELT LIKE I WAS PART OF THE STORY. YOU HAVE AWAY OF DRAWING ME IN SO DEEP I HAVE A HARD TIME PULLING MYSELF OUT TO GET BACK TO REALITY. I FELT EVERY EMOTION. I FELT THE PAIN, THE BETRAYAL, I LAUGHED, I CRIED AND FELT LIKE I WAS A PART OF THE STORY. THE RAW EMOTION WAS SO POWERFUL. YOU LEFT OUT NO DETAIL BUT LEFT ME YEARNING FOR MORE.
